I contacted the artist and she shared this about the pillow -
"I haven’t made them in at least 25 or 30 years, i’m no longer even a weaver (don’t have space for loom among other things)!
Glad to see she made it so far (and with her tag, still; amazing!).
Likely purchased at Taos Wool Festival in the way back when by a visitor from NY.
She is made of local Navajo Churro wool from a nearby ranch, hand spun on a unique Rio Grande Spinning Wheel ( demo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDiny5AZpAI&fbclid=IwAR18LKY_i-YRBpHacZHm_S4neP84Kxa-2AWLQ-wZCS4Wlr9T8tbGYUCLILo ), then woven and sewn into a pillow.
I am still in Taos and still making fiber arts, tho i concentrate on handspun yarns and handfelted hats now.
So great to see she’s still loving life, and is going for such a good cause!
thanks for the blast from the past"
