Bowl produced by the Couroc Company, Monterey, Ca circa 1980s.
Inlaid design depicts an early traditional Zuni pottery jar featuring heart-line deer in their houses and a row of spirit birds. The Zuni saw their water jars as prayer offerings to the spirits for rain and moisture in all its forms.
Gold label on bottom.

Couroc Company was founded in 1948 in Monterey, CA, by Guthrie Courvoisier. Courvoisier developed a proprietary formula of phenolic resin material that was durable enough to form into trays and distinctly impervious to alcohol and flames. His wife, Moira Wallace, acted as Couroc's chief designer.
